Level velocity statistics of hyperbolic chaos

چکیده
A generalized standard map is quantized as a model of quantum chaos. We show that, only in hyperbolic chaotic regime, second moment of quantum level velocity is ∼ 1/h̄ as predicted by the random matrix theory. As a semiclassical implication, all higher order classical time correlations are insignificant in this regime.

Lagrangian velocity statistics of directed launch strategies in a Gulf of Mexico model
The spatial dependence of Lagrangian displacement and velocity statistics is studied in the context of a data assimilating numerical model of the Gulf Mexico. In the active eddy region of the Western Gulf, a combination of Eulerian and Lagrangian measures are used to locate strongly hyperbolic regions of the flow. The statistics of the velocity field sampled by sets of drifters launched specifi...
متن کاملOFFPRINT Quantum chaotic scattering in graphene systems
We investigate the transport fluctuations in both non-relativistic quantum dots and graphene quantum dots with both hyperbolic and nonhyperbolic chaotic scattering dynamics in the classical limit. We find that nonhyperbolic dots generate sharper resonances than those in the hyperbolic case. Strikingly, for the graphene dots, the resonances tend to be much sharper. This means that transmission o...
متن کاملOn some fixed points properties and convergence theorems for a Banach operator in hyperbolic spaces
In this paper, we prove some fixed points properties and demiclosedness principle for a Banach operator in uniformly convex hyperbolic spaces. We further propose an iterative scheme for approximating a fixed point of a Banach operator and establish some strong and $Delta$-convergence theorems for such operator in the frame work of uniformly convex hyperbolic spaces. The results obtained in this...
متن کاملStable regimes for hard disks in a channel with twisting walls.
We study a gas of N hard disks in a box with semi-periodic boundary conditions. The unperturbed gas is hyperbolic and ergodic (these facts are proved for N=2 and expected to be true for all N≥2). We study various perturbations by twisting the outgoing velocity at collisions with the walls. We show that the dynamics tends to collapse to various stable regimes, however we define the perturbations...
متن کاملComment on "Finding finite-time invariant manifolds in two-dimensional velocity fields" [Chaos 10, 99 (2000)].
This note serves as a commentary of the paper of Haller [Chaos 10, 99 (2000)] on techniques for detecting invariant manifolds. Here we show that the criterion of Haller can be improved in two ways. First, by using the strain basis reference frame, a more efficient version of theorem 1 of Haller (2000) allows to better detect the manifolds. Second, we emphasize the need to nondimensionalize the ...
